Grad Dip Primary Programme Redesign

Noho
Ako Pai Marae
Tuesday 18 October 12.30pm – Wednesday 19 October

A course redesign draft is in the works!

Over a shared potluck dinner - and a breakfast provided by the wonderful Peihana (marae guy) - we'll look at the redesign, think about remaining needs and opportunities, and flesh it out together.
So far, the design has had nothing but positive feedback and input from faculty staff, so we are onto a good thing - one that will make a difference to future trainees for sure!

It needs strong student support and considered input. Before and during the noho, things to consider include:

Big questions!
- Imagine you had to take the course again next year, heaven forbid! How do you think it could be improved?
- Were there times on your TEs you felt you could have been better equipped through the course? In what way?
- Do you feel equipped to teach children to read and write in our English language, bless it, with all its charms and quirks?
- What are you burning to be asked in the upcoming course evaluation forms?
- EPSY and KURA content - what EPSY and KURA content needs to stay in?

Things we'll ponder...
- Integration through reshuffle and knocking off EPSY 302
- A week one, term one observation TE
- Peer to peer upskilling (through PDM groups)
- Combining Liz's camp and KURA 103 for an EOTC/KURA trip that's easier to push for
- Place-based programme
- Assessment
- Studio time
- Developing Learning Languages, EAL and Te Reo content
- University and other constraints

Feel free to add comments; see below for a complete overview of this year's lectures (warning: may induce mild physical pain).
Look forward to working with you all! :)
